Use upcoming feature lists to guide long-term curiosity, not short-term gear investment. Avoid hoarding Tempers or Chordstones for systems that might rework before launch.
Combat and Systems
Digital Extremes continues iterating Nightfold combo routes, weapon swap cancels, and Pact-specific Smite finishers. Future preludes may introduce additional Virtue cap raises or hybrid Virtue keystone nodes teased during Gods & Ghosts Q&A.
Enemy AI for boss encounters like Torment Stag and Cogah hard mode is slated for phase-based reworks, giving clearer tells without reducing difficulty. Spectral sight exploration may expand beyond puzzle rooms into open-world secrets.
World and Content
Midrath region count will grow beyond current Preludes 15 boundaries. Pigwen Skerry and Dermak Undercity are templates for vertically layered zones with Agari-like events. Narrative arcs around gods and ghosts likely continue into Preludes 16+ with new quest hubs.
Multiplayer scaling for larger raids remains experimental. Party finder improvements and role-agnostic matchmaking were mentioned as goals, though no fixed delivery prelude was committed on-stream.
Platform and Release
Console development is acknowledged long-term, but Preludes stays PC-only until a formal announcement says otherwise. macOS and Steam Deck optimizations are community requests under evaluation, not confirmed milestones.
Founder entitlements will carry into later phases, with cosmetics and social perks remaining account-bound. Trading may gain auction-house style features or remain direct trade only — developers cited both options without final decision.
